UNW

United Nations Women (UNW), also known as The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women became operational in January 2011, from its headquarters in New York, USA.

UN Women focuses on advocating for the rights of women and girls around the globe and tackles problems such as gender-based violence and discrimination. This organisation consists of 41 members of varying nationalities, each elected for a term of three years. While the rest of the UN has not halted in its efforts to also promote equality for women, UNW works specifically to hone and sharpen these efforts to ensure the protection of women and girls worldwide.
